The fascist tankie mods on Hexbear make the furry underclass stay in their own secluded ghetto away from the normals and you have to wear a pink pawprint on your jacket at all times so people know not to touch you.

Curious why it's hidden lol

E: lol thanks for the responses. I didn't know Hexbear had private comms.

Think it was horny at some point

That's like saying the sun rises from the east at some point

I don't remember a time when it was horny, and I've been on this site since the beginning.

I lobbied for the comm's creation. It was preemptively hidden at its inception because that's the only way the admins would allow it.

tbf the hidden flag used to be less aggressive on the old site, you wouldn't see posts from it on the frontpage, but you didnt originally have to sub for posts to load up at all. it just never got changed as site upgrades happened. The early days of the site also had a very "everyone sees every post" thing going on and nobody wanted to use the subscribe feature (still somewhat an issue), so it was hidden just so it wouldnt be on everyone's frontpage unless they subbed.

worked fine early on but I think its ling outlived its usefulness since comm blocks are a thing now

Same. The only other coms that got that treatment were sectarian in nature I think? The site has long since evolved pass whatever need there was for these type of restrictions.

[-] TheDoctor@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

I also remember this as the reason

[-] HeavenAndEarth@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago

Are there any other hidden communities???

[-] AssortedBiscuits@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago

/c/drugs, /c/feedback, and /c/mentalhealth.

[-] HeavenAndEarth@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago

Huh, /c/drugs is available on the list of communities, but furry, feedback and mentalhealth are not soviet-hmm

[-] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 21 points 2 months ago

The Volcel Vanguard went way too far and determined that furries were too sexy for Hexbear, but not so sexy they needed to be completely banned.

Honestly I hate it, it feels like typical internet fursecution which is reactionary AF. I'm not a furry though so it's not really my fight to go start, although if the Hexbear furry community wanted to fight to regain more visibility I'd be one of their loudest allies, because I think erasing people's identities is fucking shitty

[-] bleepbloopbop@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago

I don't think, at this point, it'd even be a fight, just a request (I hope).

@CARCOSA@hexbear.net any chance this could be considered?
