I actually like how younger people are going more minimalist in their fashion taste. Lots of reappropriation of stereotypical work clothes, like Dickies pants, overalls, stuff like that. That's a neat trend I've noticed.

Ngl, I unironically love rugged workwear, especially winter clothes. When I was 18-19 I had a Craftsman duck canvas jacket that i found at a thrift shop. It was heavy as hell but warm and comfortable. It became my preferred style even though I don't work construction or anything like that.

This is in a lot of shows and not just sitcoms, but I hate contrived argumentative dialogue that's set up so that the protagonist always gets the last word with "witty" responses/comebacks. It's like watching a "I'm the attractive Chad and you are the ugly NPC" meme in real time.

Before Louis Pasteur's disproving of spontaneous generation, most people believed that bacteria and putrefactive organisms like maggots etc. spontaneously poofed into existence, like a video game character spawning. Pasteur suggested that maggots came from flies laying their eggs on rotting meat etc, and that bacteria were everywhere and will multiply quickly under the right conditions. A lot of people at the time thought these were crackpot ideas.

The small business tyrants in my city like to threaten hiring freezes or say they will stop giving raises any time it looks like even the most milquetoast lib Democrat is ahead in the polls during election season.

Instead of telling them off for this retaliatory sore loser dogshit behavior, people applaud them for sticking it to the lefties or whatever.

Why do the TITLES for these videos HAVE randomly capitalized WORDS?

Firefox is the best, but I noticed Edge is more snappy at loading pages. Especially if its a page with a lot of images. But Edge is for libs, so I don't use it.

The conspiratorial side of me wants to believe that websites are coded to perform poorly when a non-Chrome browser is using them, in order to get people to switch to Chrome or Edge or whatever. Like the site detects the User Agent as "Firefox" and lowers its download speed.

Most of them are lined with BPA or some other plastic. Without it, the bare aluminium will react with a lot of foods/drinks.

It's like when chuds try to take credit for civil rights, or 5 day work weeks (Henry Ford willed the concept into existence, not years of direct action by the labor movement).

Lenin talked about how the ruling class will actively oppose a revolutionary figure, but once society at large accepts them, the ruling class will switch face and pretend like it always supported said figure.

The other day I was trying to explain this "made with 100% whatever" concept to a coworker.

A HFCS fruit drink might say "made with 100% real juice", but that real juice could be like 2% of the total recipe when the rest is HFCS, dyes and flavorings. It's one of those technically true things and it's enough to skirt FDA labeling requirements, and a lot of people are dumb enough to be taken in by it and believe they're drinking a real product.

"Owning a car = freedom"

Unfortunately in a country where the infrastructure is so hostile to public transit or even pedestrian/biking amenities that it's nearly impossible to live, work or function without a car unless you're lucky enough to live in a dense urban community, I can see how people might believe this.

I think the earliest instance of "brain worms" I remember was from an episode of Invader Zim in 2001. Zim is offended at the concept of paying to ride a filthy, poorly maintained bus and shouts at the driver "Have you the brain worms?!"
