Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Greene is a trash bag pretending to be human.

[–] Riccosuave@lemmy.world 48 points 6 months ago (2 children)

That's not fair at all. Trash bags have a lot of utility.

[–] RagingSnarkasm@lemmy.world 13 points 6 months ago

And they’re a lot more pleasing to the eye, relatively speaking.

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Fair enough

[–] finthechat@kbin.social 18 points 6 months ago

She's a pretty shitty trash bag. Trash bags are supposed to keep the garbage in, not spill it all over the place.

[–] Gerudo@lemm.ee 35 points 6 months ago

Daaaaamn. I read the exchanges, what an absolute cunt goblin. Greene and every R on that panel who didn't say shit to her, needs to get a swift kick in the mouth.

“If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blond bad built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?”

We were all thinking it.

[–] Moobythegoldensock@lemm.ee 9 points 6 months ago (1 children)

That is some masterclass alliteration.

[–] MapleEngineer@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

I bet her fake eyelashes were just a fluttering.

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 22 points 6 months ago

They’re literally there to disturb government, drag things out and break things.

[–] todd_bonzalez@lemm.ee 19 points 6 months ago

CSPAN is basically Reality TV at this point...

“Why don’t you debate me?” Greene asked.

“I think it’s pretty self-evident,” Ocasio-Cortez shot back.

“Yeah, you don’t have enough intelligence,” Greene responded, prompting uproar among Democrats.

Like the time she tried to remind the house to consider decorum like a week after she bleated like a donkey at Biden. Fucking dumb ass lady.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago (1 children)

she tried to remind the house to consider decorum like a week after she bleated like a donkey

Was that before or after she entered revenge porn into the congressional record?

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 5 months ago

Before, I believe. But I wouldn't put it past her to repeat both as many times as possible, thus the question becomes a time paradox and wouldn't you know it the universe implodes.

[–] dumbass@leminal.space 6 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Remember the time she yelled through a mail slot to an empty room pretending to abuse AOC.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 5 months ago

No, but I find that hilarious and on brand.

[–] somas@kbin.social 13 points 6 months ago

@return2ozma

Jesus, Greene just drags everyone and everything into the gutter.

[–] Raptor_007@lemmy.world 12 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Christ. How do we even come back from this whole situation across the political landscape?

[–] TwoBeeSan@lemmy.world 15 points 6 months ago

We don't.

Trump was nail in the coffin showing others there isn't actually consequence if you're connected enough.

Performative drama politics from here on out. All decorum out the fucking window.

People like Greene are such dullard plants for distraction. But maybe it's scarier that many Americans identify with this type of bullying.

[–] Dmw009013@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago

Probably wait till the first triumvirate devolves into civil war then a second triumvirate and another civil war thus giving us Princeps Octavian. So about 45 years from now

[–] Veedem@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago

Greene is a really piece of shit… as in she’s the unusable, indigestible parts of society’s body.

Man, I remember Idiocracy having higher production value... Wasn't there monster trucks and stuff? The dialog is pretty much as I remember, though.

[–] billiam0202@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Also Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho!

[–] arandomthought@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Right? Where is he? He would have cleaned that place right up!

[–] Burninator05@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago

Yep. The Dilldozer and the Ass Blaster.

[–] dumbass@leminal.space 2 points 6 months ago

Congress in idiocracy had the intelligence to put differences aside to agree on the best outcome for everyone....

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 6 points 6 months ago

I've heard more elevated discourse on elementary school playgrounds
