Not beating the coronation allegations.

Also for those who don't know, "the south got something to say" - she's quoting Andre 3000 at the 1995 Source Awards, a historic moment for southern hip-hop. This whole thing is a joke.

DNC voters are such good little pawns

I’ll never forget how Kamala was such a deeply unpopular candidate in 2020 that she got a total of 0 delegates in her home state. Everything about politics is completely manufactured by the bourgeois

Everything about politics is completely manufactured by the bourgeoisie

It's clear as day and yet we're the crazy ones for pointing this out.

[–] stigsbandit34z@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

More and more obvious in the internet age

[–] jaywalker@hexbear.net 32 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'm pretty sure she suspended her campaign well before the California primary election. At least I looked it up and her campaign's Wikipedia says she suspended in December of 2019. That primary was in March of 2020, so it would be kind of odd if she got a lot of votes.

[–] miz@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago (4 children)

she dropped then because it was the last day before the deadline to be removed from the California ballot

yeah and now she’s all but pre determined to be president because “it’s what my tv said”

[–] ClimateChangeAnxiety@hexbear.net 21 points 1 month ago

I like to frequently point out that Kamala Harris and I have received the same number of delegates in US presidential elections

[–] WeedReference420@hexbear.net 60 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Maybe it's not surprising but seeing almost every left leaning community (aside from here, thank fuck - not that I thought people here would fall for it) descend into full-throated support for the democrats where any dissenting voices are shouted down genuinely makes me feel like I'm witness to the forming of a cult or some shit

[–] Pentacat@hexbear.net 47 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The US appears to be in some kind of suicidal spiral, so the cult thing fits.

[–] Spongebobsquarejuche@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago

The US is a suicide cult.

Biden's speech last night was better than Obama's. Obama was just pushing the same bipartisanship bullshit as always. I hate how much Democrats like him. Biden attacked republicans and had a few "my opponents are bastards and actually accuse me of supporting something, and I actually do because it's actually good" lines. Not to butter up Biden, but I prefer it so much over Obama's empty compromise bullshit, and again I really hate how much Democrats love to hear that shit from Obama.

Republicans aren't decent people you have a disagreement with. They're hateful scum and their platform is evil and shouldn't be allowed to run for office.

[–] HexcraftDirtFarmer@hexbear.net 26 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Thing is tho - so are Democrats.

It's one of the things I care about the most because it effects me in deeply personal ways fairly often, it costs me friends and scares the shit out of me, Obama and Biden are historic, incomparable, evils on genocidal 'anti-immigration' and 'border control' policies in the contemporary era.

The Republicans genuinely do not compare, rhetoric aside, what they actually do is so much fucking tamer, life is so much less dangerous on average.

I'm not saying Dems are worse than Republicans, tho perhaps some specific men are. I'm saying they're the same creature.

Of course they're bi-partisan.

“The white conservatives aren't friends of the Negro either, but they at least don't try to hide it. They are like wolves; they show their teeth in a snarl that keeps the Negro always aware of where he stands with them. But the white liberals are foxes, who also show their teeth to the Negro but pretend that they are smiling. The white liberals are more dangerous than the conservatives; they lure the Negro, and as the Negro runs from the growling wolf, he flees into the open jaws of the "smiling" fox.” ― Malcom X

The difference between a liberal and a fascist: The fascist wants to kill you. The liberal wants the fascist to kill you.

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago

I think they both want to kill you, the liberal uses a heat guided missile while the fascist uses a plowdriver on an F-150.

[–] ClimateChangeAnxiety@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

Obama and Biden are historic, incomparable, evils on genocidal 'anti-immigration' and 'border control' policies in the contemporary era.

I want everyone to remember that Obama and Biden both had harsher immigration policies than GWB and Trump

[–] Diablosmacc@hexbear.net 22 points 1 month ago

Obungler has such a hard on for respectability politics and bipartisanship bs. if I have to listen to one more speech about the need to preserve democracy im going to purchase a rope and sturdy chair

Republicans aren’t decent people you have a disagreement with. They’re hateful scum and their platform is evil and shouldn’t be allowed to run for office

But that's exactly how and why Democrats approach them as if they are. Because the only difference between the two at this point are purely aesthetic-driven. The Democrats aren't decent people either-- they're just as hateful, just as evil, and honestly, maybe worse because at the very fucking least a Republican will look you in the eye as he lynches you.

The Democrat will lull you into lowering your guard as a friend, ambush you, string you up from behind, and then crocodile tear to their bought-and-paid-for 'journalism' outlets like they regretted having to betray you. And then they laugh about it after they get what they want.

Hey guys, remember Lil Jon? Yeah he was the guy who said "OK" like 15 years ago? And now he's in his 50s? Re...remember?

[–] abc@hexbear.net 47 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 35 points 1 month ago (1 children)

YEAH

that's another thing he said!

"Turn Down for What" was the quintessential "song your high school principal awkwardly dances to during an assembly to show everyone he's 'with it' in the early 2010s"

[–] sourquincelog@hexbear.net 25 points 1 month ago

Been there, as faculty

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 29 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Chappelle Show did its parody of Lil Jon in 2004. That's 20 years. chomsky-yes-honey

It is important to me that government officials fire up the loud and order another round of shots.

[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 45 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

we went from voting for the "guy you could have a beer with" to voting for the "woman you could go to da club with"

american democracy in action

[–] Letstakealook@lemm.ee 49 points 1 month ago

That's the idea, isn't it? Focus on vibes and arguing over culture war bullshit while society crumbles around us for the enrichment of a few. I also can't fully describe it, but this feels like demeaning pandering to what their perceptions of the black electorate are.

[–] GaveUp@hexbear.net 42 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

I mean, she's kinda killing it with this angle tbh. People are going crazy over the Quavo and Megan Thee Stallion performances, the Kendrick songs being played, the Brat stuff, etc.

She's the second coming of Obama

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 58 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The obama as tragedy, the paid-for-by-kamala-harris as farce

[–] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 40 points 1 month ago

milhouse

Remember Obama? He's back! In woman form!

[–] rootsbreadandmakka@hexbear.net 35 points 1 month ago

yeah, I'm not arguing it's not effective. All the millennials who remember dancing to Get Low when they didn't give a shit about politics are gonna love this. I just hate it

[–] HamManBad@hexbear.net 34 points 1 month ago

Kayfabe, baybee! Running on pure vibes

[–] miz@hexbear.net 32 points 1 month ago

I fucking hate it here

[–] Antiwork@hexbear.net 29 points 1 month ago

[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 28 points 1 month ago

cult shit.. tv is made for herding people into cults

[–] HexcraftDirtFarmer@hexbear.net 27 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'm not watching this one because I won't watch a genocidal rally hinged on personality cult of a scarecrow, and I can't imagine it isn't one this year. Do let me know if anything good comes from it, I could use a good shock.

[–] Hexboare@hexbear.net 23 points 1 month ago

It's so embarrassingly stupid and contrived. Libs oscillate between decorum fetishism and whatever the hell this is so fast they could generate electricity

[–] 187_Invitation@hexbear.net 20 points 1 month ago

I just poured my crunk juice down the drain I can't believe Lil Jon would betray me like this.

[–] frauddogg@lemmygrad.ml 18 points 1 month ago

I would very much like the peckerwoods consigning my community to prison slavery and chalk outlines to stop bastardizing the culture that they have been taking pains to kill for the past thirty years. Death to the settlers, death to the DNC, death to all their tapdancing minstrels.

Bunch of fucking Steppin Fetchits, I swear to fucking god.

All I can think of is that episode of Community where there's an election for student president and the debate comes down to the one guy saying "Pop Pop!" and the other blowing a raspberry into the mic, over and over.

[–] archomrade@midwest.social 5 points 1 month ago

"You're missing the final debate! It's the biggest political showdown of all time!"

Ok but why does the guy at the start sound like one of the South Park guys

On this video I got a sidebar ad for sakuradate . com stating "Find a Soulmate from Vietnam."

Love to get advertisements for (presumably) some lite human trafficking on my DNC campaign video

[–] infuziSporg@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He did this in the 2014 midterms.

[–] rootsbreadandmakka@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

I think that was a Rock the Vote type thing, no? Not actually coronating a candidate alongside Democratic party leaders
