Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

Couple thoughts:

  1. As always this is fuckin rich coming from the Regime Change country
  2. US policy impacts literally everybody because the US can't fuckin mind their own business so in a pretty real sense the rest of the world should be allowed to vote in US elections.

I thought they'd go with the Chinese this time.

When the Republican candidate wins: It's because Russian bots interfered in the elections

When the Democratic candidate wins: It's because Chinese bots interfered in the elections

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 42 points 2 months ago

During the upcoming Cold War 2.0 - China will be accused every time.

[–] Aquilae@hexbear.net 36 points 2 months ago

My bet was on Hamas. Dang

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago

They probably will at some point. They said China and Iran were interfering in 2020 and will probably add North Korea to the list.

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 67 points 2 months ago (1 children)

"We lost because of social media interference, not because our candidate has the charisma of a bowl of oatmeal and has pledged to continue aiding a genocide that 80% of our voters want us to stop"

[–] sewer_rat_420@hexbear.net 25 points 2 months ago

Somehow the Russian propagandists got Kopmala to spread their misinformation, because I decided I wouldn't vote for her during the DNC speech based on words out of her own mouth

[–] AmericaDelendaEst@hexbear.net 66 points 2 months ago

Liberals always fail to explain how Russia paying companies to push a message is more Russian influence than, idk, the influence of those fucking companies they're paying. IT'S ALMOST LIKE CAPITALISM IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH DEMOCRACY, WHICH FUCKING ALBERT FUCKING EINSTEIN STATED IN SUCH SUCCINCT TERMS A FUCKING BABY COULD UNDERSTAND IT, LIKE 100 YEARS AGO

[–] dkr567@hexbear.net 66 points 2 months ago (4 children)

Did I just wake up in 2020 again? What's next? Are they accusing Chinese bots for ruining their breakfast?

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 46 points 2 months ago (5 children)

Are they accusing Chinese bots for ruining their breakfast?

Funny you should say, CNN was saying China and Iran are deploying bots rn.

[–] batsforpeace@hexbear.net 37 points 2 months ago

the usual gang is back just in time huh, and the 'Jill Stein Russian asset' bit too

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 17 points 2 months ago

Ex-aide to NY Gov. Hochul charged as Chinese agent

While working in state government, Sun allegedly blocked representatives of the Taiwanese government from meeting with officials, and allegedly sought to arrange for a high-level New York state official to visit China.

liberty-weeping which is apparently "a threat to our national security."....glasses-on Threat to weapons contrators profits.

I'm just waiting for the democrats to suddenly become very concerned about the MIGRANT CONVOYS the republicans usually trot out every four years

[–] heggs_bayer@hexbear.net 16 points 2 months ago

Judging by the fact that the HarriSS campaign is releasing attack ads harping on how Trump shot down a border security bill, they are already concerned about it.

Because this worked so well last time lol

[–] TechnoUnionTypeBeat@hexbear.net 70 points 2 months ago (8 children)

It did though

Every fucking liberal still believes, to their core, in the existence of a vast warehouse full of Russian agents posting anti-Democrat agitprop in support of Trump. Everything negative in the West is now a Russian psyop according to liberals: independence movements, pro-Palestinian movements, any form of fascism is funded by Russia, etc

There was never any proof posted and yet this fucking idea scrawled onto the back of some Langley lanyard's napkin at lunch became the guiding principle by which all liberals have spent the last 8 years living

[–] Dickey_Butts@hexbear.net 38 points 2 months ago

Unfortunately I agree. It did seem to work very well. Libs in my family that know literally nothing about Russia are convinced that Putin is out to get them.

[–] sewer_rat_420@hexbear.net 33 points 2 months ago (1 children)

When I was telling my Blue MAGA friend I would never vote for Biden and he needed to step down (jokes on them, I won't vote for Kopmala either), he accused me and my wife of basically buying into Russian propaganda...like bro, all I did was watch the debate and watch this corpse of a man cling to power, no Russians involved.

I guess now I have fallen for even more Russian propaganda, such as the very words that came out of Kopmala's mouth (frack more, make our military more lethal, palestinians are r**ists)

I always find funny when something happens and someone quickly go: Russian hackers/Russian bots.

Sometimes Putin is a incompetent moron and sometimes he is god who can shape the entire internet? Come on.

The liberals saw QAnon, and how it warped the Republican party, and thought, "Hey, we need some of that on our side."

any form of fascism is funded by Russia

Except for our freedom loving fascism!

[–] aaaaaaadjsf@hexbear.net 21 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (2 children)

But didn't they lose the election to Trump when they went so hard on the Russia stuff in 2016? This stuff sounds like it only works on true believer libs.

[–] PorkrollPosadist@hexbear.net 17 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

The Russia stuff didn't really take off until after the Democrats blew it. Its purpose was not to get out the vote, but to blame everything on forces beyond their control and prevent the Democratic Party from being justifiably decapitated by its constituents. In the end, it worked. They lost to Donald fucking Trump and all of them got to keep their jobs.

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 20 points 2 months ago (1 children)

There was never any proof posted

IIRC there was some proof it's just that the "interference" had all the sophistication of a facebook page called "Blacks 4 Trump" with 20 followers. The exact same thing was done with far more skill by the UK-based private company Cambridge Analytica but for some reason we never hear about the british interfering in our sham elections.

Attention citizens - if you hear any criticism of our girl boss Kamala, that's heckin' Hamas. If anyone speaks ill of our dad Walz, that's freakin' Vlad whispering in your ear.

Doesn't really speak well to their belief in their ability to win.

Also blue Maga, this sure reads an awful lotnlike Trump saying the only way he loses is if dems cheat months ahead of the election.

[–] Spongebobsquarejuche@hexbear.net 26 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Hey creeps! I thought money was speech?? Mmmm sweet hypocrisy.
