You can't reference eating someone for dinner and omit one of the best attacks of the whole night.

"Why don’t you tell the 800,000 Polish Americans right here in Pennsylvania how quickly you would give up for the sake of favor and what you think is a friendship with what is known to be a dictator, who would eat you for lunch."

Fuck yeah. Kamala was all of us that night. The pity and scorn that she injected into that line was just simply perfect.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 68 points 2 months ago

In case someone else missed it, "give up" refers to the war in Ukraine, and how after Trump pulls out, Putin would invade Poland next.

[–] rigatti@lemmy.world 39 points 2 months ago

They're eating THE DOGS. They're eating THE CATS. They're eating... They're eating THE PETS!

[–] foofiepie@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Out of all the memery, I missed this until I read the transcript and it’s my absolute favourite.

[–] modifier@lemmy.ca 33 points 2 months ago (4 children)

She had so many good lines, clearly well prepped and practiced, and deployed flawlessly at just the right time.

And the way she looked at him, pointed at him, and the tone she used on him...we aren't talking about this enough yet: she made the supposed strongman look so dopey and small. Like a cuck.

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

She also used the old "look straight at the camera to engage with the viewer" strategy very well. She chose the right times to do that, with the right messages. And she didn't over-use that technique, so it didn't get diluted.

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

👆 Trump in the "spin room" afterwards.

[–] JustZ@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

This comment put me over the top. I will watch the debate. That fat fucking gobshite makes me so angry, I can't stand to hear his voice. I'd watch that one PA rally again, though.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Seems like she just wrote the playbook on how to deal with these fascist, wannabe strongmen losers.

I love Michelle Obama, but goddamn did that one quote of "...we go high" unwittingly derail the ability of the Democratic party to handle these clowns the only way that works.

[–] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Her “what women want” evisceration ranked, I believe, at least, as a tie to that one. I think I saw blood after that.

I apologize for not having a quote, because it was fucking art

[–] chakan2@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

The quote is good, her delivery with pure hatred, distain, and outright contempt is what drove it home.

It was good to see a Democrat finally be passionate and condescending to that fat fuck on a national stage.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Damn. I skipped the debate because I cannot stand to see that bloviating orange corpse speak for longer than 3 seconds without having the urge to vomit violently...

I know Kamala obviously won based on all of the articles, but hadn't read specific quotes like this until now. She cooked him. This is the Democratic party we have needed and lacked for the past 15+ years.

[–] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 116 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (2 children)

You forgot the best line of the entire debate, when she said Trump‘s rallygoers were leaving early, “exhausted and bored”:

[–] Nuke_the_whales@lemmy.world 35 points 2 months ago (1 children)

He was so low energy and sleepy all night. This was the only time his eyes fully opened lol. You could tell that cut him deep

[–] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 31 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

He wasn't sleepy or “low-energy”, he was doing everything he could to keep his shit bottled up and contained, but Kamala kept booking that hornets’ nest, kept poking and poking, and then she gave it a good strong WHACK!

After that, he just went fucking bonkers— and she just laughed and laughed…

[–] JustZ@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Poking the hornets nest is when you provoke something dangerous and get stung a bunch of times. She was poking, and poking a fat slob who can't put a sentence together and looks like a sociopath weirdo who doesn't know how to be human.

[–] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

It would be foolish to think that Trump is not dangerous.

She definitely was poking a hornets’ nest, it’s just that she was fully prepared and well-protected, and she knew how to get the hornets to attack themselves.

That’s how good she is.

[–] mercano@lemmy.world 33 points 2 months ago (2 children)

“This… former president” is also up there. It’s so much fun thinking of all the other options she swallowed during that pause.

[–] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

There are a lot of F words I would like to call him, too…

[–] WaxedWookie@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

The barely perceptible little smile to herself and peek at his reaction was pretty amusing too.

I saw Kamala's interviews from a couple of years back and thought she had negative charisma. She's not the nominee I want, but I'm so encouraged to see that there's no disputing that she's absolutely killing it.

[–] norimee@lemmy.world 46 points 2 months ago (2 children)

You know, politics is so whacko now that mere information can go for a meme now.

[–] EmpathicVagrant@lemmy.world 17 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Any information exchange is technically a meme.

[–] JustZ@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Keep me in the screenshot.

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

And the biggest scandal of this election cycle is that the conservatives actually wrote their policy down as project 2025.

[–] Mr_Blott@feddit.uk 10 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (2 children)

Thanks for this!

It didn't actually get much coverage in Europe because political "debates" are just infantile shit-smearing in the US

Edit - fuck me that's almost unreadable. A third of you guys vote for that fucking deranged baboon?

[–] nandeEbisu@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

They didn't used to be. Maybe you'd have some less popular candidates try and get a jab in for publicity during the primaries, but the presidential debated used to be for attacking the other guy's policies while making yourself seem likeable and confident. And back before TV, they actually had to sound smart too.

[–] LucidNightmare@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago

Yep.

This is because one party has actively went against education tooth and nail. (except for THEIR kids, who get to go to schools that teach them how to take advantage of people who don’t have the best education like they do) - ReDUMBlicans

The other party has been too busy trying to find common ground and taking the higher road to even get the fools who vote for people like Trump and their ilk a view of how crazy their little imaginary team is. - Democrats

The good news is that I watched the entire debate, and was satisfied enough with Kamala’s performance.

I will say that I don’t think giving people child tax cuts is cool in my book, because people like me have chose to not have kids because of the current whacko bullshit that the entire world is gulping down right now. I detest people having kids in this current environment getting money for being selfish to the future of their kids, but I’m still all for Kamala. She did good!

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Bet that sniper's bullet is looking real dreamy right now to this pustulant sac of shit, fraying at his seams.

[–] Frog@lemmy.ca 17 points 2 months ago (3 children)

I'd rather see him suffer and die in jail.

[–] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 18 points 2 months ago (2 children)
[–] grue@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

People have been saying "dear God what is that thing" about him for years now already.

[–] kellyaster@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

As you wish!

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Pass the cost to the taxpayer and feed the same greedy fucks who've been bankrolling his fetid smear from the womb and earlier? That's way too similar to a refund/rebate for them. 🖕🏽

[–] Frog@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Trump got $5 million back in taxes. We've been feeding this piece of shit with our money anyway.

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

That's a logical fallacy, friend. A Trump Cost fallacy, even.

[–] DillyDaily@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

For his sake I hope so.

But for humanities sake I want him to go to jail, get the same treatment as any other prisoner, and not suffer.

Because if I get to live in a fantasy world where he's in jail, I also want a world where the prison system is for rehabilitation and safe containment, not punishment and suffering.

[–] Frog@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Not suffer from being treated harshly, but suffer in his own mind of how much of loser he is. I want him to think about how it all went wrong. And I want to know more and more lawsuits and charges are on the way. I want him to see the news and it rates him as the worst president of all time.

I'm sure they will throw him in the ClubMed of prisons.

[–] DillyDaily@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I fear his mental state may not grant him the capacity for such self awareness, even in prison.

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 month ago

I got banned form PornHub for uploading the debate.

[–] SassyRamen@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

My favorite comment so far was "that look when you're about to cook an orange." It was from when he was talk about her dad. xD

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 11 points 2 months ago

+1 for a post title as savage as the meme itself.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago

Dayam.

That’s for real? Noice.

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Where was he shot? I haven't seen the scar?
