In celebration of the new year I’ve decided to compile my conversations with the North Koreans I have talked to

I'd like to nominate this moment where I made an offhand mention of a lib who had their own subreddit for monitoring us and hadn't been active in years, then received a reply from said lib in mere minutes, as the wildest moment of the year. 1. Easily goes to @thelastaxolotl@hexbear.net for all the incredible megathreads over longest while, as well as my own personal interest in battlrs for indigenous sovereignty. Tied for it is @SeventyTwoTrillion@hexbear.net and the legendary work they've done in the news megathread. Yall are some of the smartest people I know and I genuinely trust yall like a liberal trusts CNN.

2. Easily @frauddogg@hexbear.net as null has gone on a path of fighting the great white brainworm of white supremacy and seem to be winning. Easily would rip a liberal to shreds and have them repeating nonsense and calling void a tankie within a few replies.

Also a close second for @yogthos@lemmygrad.ml because they've made a name for themselves already and probably is the greatest fear of all lemmy libs.

3. This one's hard so I'll do a few @AshenWolf@hexbear.net, @kristina@hexbear.net @sweet_pecan@hexbear.net, and @corgiwithalaptop@hexbear.net for most comradely. Ashenwolf for her work in the trans comm and the trachat. Kristina for her IRL praxis. Pecan as a stable rock of good takes and steadfast protection of the EMpoc. And corgi because they are the best.

4. @Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net but seriously I think they're one of my favorite, and practically as much a part of hexbear as the name itself. Touch grass everyone but never stop posting dirt owl.

Does anyone else not learn usernames? There's me, there's that one person with the awful avatar so I've decided I don't like them, there's like 500 names that I recognize but see as essentially interchangeable, and then there's dirt owl who talks about piss.

Id like to nominate gay tucker carlson for resuming our past friendship and being nice to me in DMs about personal stuff when they saw id come back to the site after not talking for a long time, also for the best impression of tucker carlson if he was gay. didn't want to @ her bcs it felt awkward.

Nominating myself for best lurker who posts some comments every two months who is too afraid to make an actual post myself after being bullied on r/chapotraphouse but in a deserved way because I only made posts when drunk.

I, once again, nominate myself for this prestigious award just so I can be the only two times Hexie nominated actor in Hollywood.

Best effortposter: @Frank@hexbear.net. The man will write an essay on anything from how liberals fundamentally fail to understand communists to how the evolution of player killing in Ultima Online led to the modern state of MMOs. He's both very empathetic and very analytical, he has a lot of knowledge to share, and he doesn't hesitate to share it. Plus, I can always appreciate a fellow Clausewitz enjoyer.

With both of us being communist vegans, we've talked a lot about how the two intertwine and about our shared frustrations with both liberal vegans and anti-vegan communists. She just gets it in a way I've seen few other people do. I was very sad when she stepped down as mod (though I understand and support her decision). Please consider helping her pay her rent.
