Imagine a society in which women were allowed to learn, work, and even participate in government. The absolute HORROR of communism!

"You absolutely have to hand it to them. The trains ran on time" hitler-detector

What gets me is that that isn't even true. The Italian fascists were famously bad at day-to-day governing in Italy.

By like the mid 1930s the nazis had already turned the German economy into a fucked up ponzi scheme, and the Italian fascists had to create the second most publicly owned economy in the world because they had a government policy of buying every failing italian company and then mandating that nothing change about how the company was run.

What gets me is that that isn't even true. The Italian fascists were famously bad at day-to-day governing in Italy.

The train thing came from them trying to solve train delays by cutting maintenance schedules and instituting absurd penalties for the train engineers if they didn't arrive on schedule.

The result was more accidents, more breakdowns, and more overall delays, but they were still just beating their chests and declaring they made the trains faster.

It sucks that italian fascism lead to German fascism and all the attendant horrors because if you could just do it in a vacuum and it just consisted of a bunch of dudes named Vincenzo and Giancarlo breaking trains to prove how masculine they are while everything falls apart around them it would be pretty funny to watch

is that that isn't even true.

My favorite part of this is how the Germans relied on trains to move Tiger tanks because they couldn't drive long distances on their own. So when the Allies carpet bombed all the German rail yards, the Germans couldn't move tanks to where they were needed. When rail lines were open, they prioritized the Holocaust and sending people to death camps over military objectives (such as making sure your troops have ammo or food. Those are obviously unimportant).

Nazi ideology is a death cult. People considered extermination of undesirables the primary objective of the war, rather than the war they were actually fighting. Whenever you hear "the trains ran on time," it's (knowingly or unknowingly) referring to getting cattle cars full of human beings into concentration camps.

Did you know that slaves imported to the 13 colonies used to be branded with the sigil of the duke of york (Later king of Scotland/England) because the royal african company was owned by the monarchy and they had a monopoly on the slave trade

"they taught them to read so they could read communist propaganda and be brainwashed"

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago

Literally the funniest trope and they willfully repeat it. Like our education system isn't built for that exact same purpose but instead of communist propaganda it's teaching you language so you can understand the advertisement telling you to gamble your paycheck at sportsdraftbook.com

It's so awesome living in banal hell

It's really sad that Chiang Kai-shek had to go to exile in Taiwan sadness

At least he has his Asian Peoples' Anti-Communist League, if only he'd stop inviting all those fascists.

Fascists: “Nazism is literally the perfect ideology. Sure, it’s evil but the funny anime villain I idolize said morals are for the weak!”

Communists: “lmao we solved poverty by yanking the wealth porky was holding out of his trotters!”

Fascists: “whoa whoa whoa, that’s an evil idea for meanie-poos! I can excuse genocide but I draw the line at STEALING!”

See, you just don't get it. The [insert dehumanisation] are worth negative value, whereas food has positive value.

Oh sure, so socialism eliminates poverty, improves equality and creates a high standard of life for its citizens without violently oppressing and exploiting people domestically or overseas. BUT AT WHAT COST??1!!one

how-much-could-it-cost
