3 exclusively, I will be very fussy about it otherwise.

2.5
Real shit, that's my only banana eating range.
3 is the best banana, but you run the risk of accidentally eating a 2.8 and ruining everything
4-5 is optimal but I will eat any banana that isnt mush
Yus, same here. I need that softer sweeter nana.
I'm a pretty serious 1-7 kinda guy, assuming you mean also eating the peel.
No, I will not be answering questions.
Are you a elephant
I'm a 2-3 man, I like my banana a little cold and tough.
3-4
- naked, straight into my face: 2-4
- with cereal: 2-5
- to make pancakes, waffles, & baked goods: 5+
I'm usually clothed when I eat a banana but you do you
3 for sure, I really like that tangy freshness. I've been getting a lot more accepting of the higher numbers though, so I'll do up to a 5 without much complaint, and even a 6 if there's really nothing else to eat.
Between 2 and 3 is peak banana imho. Cut that bad boy up in some corn flakes. The others are fine I guess.
Exclusively 4
1.5 - 2. Ripe bananas are too sweet imo. I like when bananas are firm and slightly acidic
3-6, once it hits 7 then it becomes banana bread.
4 is ideal, but I'll happily eat 2-6. 7 is "I should make banana bread" 2 days before I throw it out.
I think the banana companies are doing something different with the ripening process the last few years because the peels stay greener longer, even though the banana is ripening at the same rate.
6 exclusively, as soon as the peel starts getting greasy though it's bad. It gets better and better until it hits a cliff and suddenly it's only suitable for banana bread, and only barely. They freeze for smoothies nicely though.

The only one I wouldn't eat is number 1, that green and its gonna be too hard. Otherwise there's never a time when I don't want to eat a banana.
3-5 eat
6 make smoothie
7 make banana bread
3 is
3
1 i dont like, everything else is prey.
4 (peeled)
3-4 enjoyers
2.5 for me.
4-6 normally, 5 preferable, 7 is good for smoothies
I prefer 4, but I honestly love bananas so much I'd eat at any stage.
4-6 is ideal, but I will eat 7
So while at work one of my friends pull out a banana that looked like 7 out of a bag saying it was an extra one and if I wanted it. Not being rude I accepted the banana never eating anything beyond a 3. My brain was going nuts at this stage because he pulls out another banana for himself that looked way more aged than a 7. I think it was a few hours off from self fermenting into a banana daiquiri or something. He is acting like this is a normal fucking day the whole time.
1-3 are too fresh. 4-6 are ideal. 7 for baking.
2-3 is the the best, prefer them a little under ripe
2
2.5 to 4 for eating (the fresh taste is my favorite), 5+ is for cooking or baking
3 4 5 usually, before is a no-go and after that is banana bread time
Anywhere from 1 to 5. 6 is just too thin-skinned/squishy/falling apart (still perfectly fine for including in a meal, just not as a snack on its own) and 7 obviously even more so.
A 1 banana and a 5 banana are basically completely different fruits. 1 is sharp and "grassy" while 5 is sweet and mild. So they're for different moods.
3 is less in the danger zone for spoilage though so I do that too. 6 and 7 are reserved for banana blueberry bread
5 to a 6. I put bananas in oatmeal mostly so I don't mind the loss in structure if they become sweet.
What's more important than ripeness is quality imo. I hate Walmart bananas, they taste like ass regardless of their ripeness. But the aldi bananas taste better as a 2 than a Walmart one as a 5.
3, but I’m willing to eat a 2. I’m an outlier though, I dislike sweet as a flavor.
1-2. i kinda love the slight starchiness and once it starts getting a bit yellow, its perfectly firm and the banana flavor really shines through. even the green ones i'll eat from time to time.
Agreed with general consensus of 3-6, though I freeze 7's for smoothies instead of making bread
I find it interesting that respondents are skewing greener for a munching banana than I expected. I don't peel a nana til I see brown spots.
It is when you get the best flavor
once every like couple years but i'm just not that into bananas tbh
4,5,6 brown spots mean yummy
wait until 7 and turn it into banana bread
