In the aftermath of Trump surviving an assassination attempt, many professional opinion-havers are now talking about the scourge of "political violence" that has overtaken, or will soon overtake America, and how we must not let chaos rule. This is, of course, patently absurd. The American government and its allies have been the greatest force of political violence on the planet since the beginning of colonialism, and the foundations of the country are made of corpses. Today, America commits political violence by forcing Ukrainians into the maw of Russian artillery instead of trying to reach a peaceful settlement, which Russia has repeatedly expressed interest in and offered Ukraine relatively favourable terms. They supply Israel with endless weaponry to destroy entire cities and populations, while Biden supporters insist that somehow things could be worse than daily massacres and mass starvation.

In May 1945, French police fired on protestors, causing retaliatory attacks on French settlers, killing about a hundred. In response, the French murdered 45,000 Algerians in a little under two months, in a frenzy of political violence called the Sétif and Guelma massacre. As the massacre was being completed, the International Court of Justice was established. It goes without saying that Algeria never benefited from the ICJ, and the War of Independence from 1954 to 1962 was made inevitable. Over a million Algerians were killed before France could bear the fighting no longer and gave up, and Algeria won itself a state. Comparisons to the ongoing war of independence and genocide in Palestine are obvious.

While the means of colonial violence have evolved over the centuries, the basic structure of it has not. As in Algeria, Vietnam, and Cuba, resistance groups in and around Palestine are fighting for a world with less political violence. The American government would drown every city in the developing world in blood to prevent peace.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. According to Vanity Fair, Tucker Carlson warned Trump that he had to pick JD Vance because if he chose a neocon VP, the Deep State would have incentive to assassinate him to get a neocon in the Presidency. Incredibly tortured logic from confusion

Let's talk macro for a little bit: with the JD Vance pick (and assuming the Democrats can't fix their campaign), are we not seeing the balance of power in DC shift from New York & finance to San Francisco & tech?

That shift in power lends far more credence to reindustrialization and a change in the US Treasury than anything else. A weak dollar is far less important to the Silicon Valley elite than it is to the New York elite. Is it unreasonable to expect a weakening dollar emerge over the next four years, bringing with it a rise in onshoring, a rise in real incomes (which are overwhelmingly from domestic consumption), and a fall in purchasing power abroad?

In his speech at the Republican Party convention, Trump calls Republican Scott Walker “governor” and says he is “doing a great job” in the state of Wisconsin. Scott has not been in office since 2019. He lost the 2018 election to Democrat Tony Evers.

I still can't wrap my head around why a 20 year old republican would try to take out Trump of all people. Especially right after Brandon went hollow on live TV and secured a win for the presumptive GOP nominee.

Edit: maybe it's useless to try to make sense of. Americans are completely incoherent.

Biden doesn't have covid. They are just trying to get him to shut the fuck up for a couple weeks while they try to figure out what drug to add to the cocktail.

Radlib cope moment: Maybe the real reason AOC and Bernie are stanning Biden so hard isn't because they think Biden will win or that'll he'll give concessions, but because they've caught wind of a massive planned campaign to blame "the left" for Biden losing

If Biden loses, the media and the DNC will absolutely try to redirect blame from the neolib faction and the nebulous non-entity of the American "left" is always at the top of the list, so one can assume the groundwork for this future media blitz is already being laid and considering all those "we're resigned to a second Trump term" leaks, its a safe bet the new anti-left talking points are being brainstormed as we speak

Great quote from an article on the air war in Ukraine:

The Russian air forces have underwhelmed over the past 2 ½ years of war, but they also have rapidly adapted and scored wins through tactics such as stand-off bombing and synchronized drone and missile barrages. Other elements of the aerospace forces have also effectively denied Ukraine the chance to shift the battlefield from the skies.
"It's been surprising they're adapting over time through trial and error," Justin Bronk, an airpower expert at the UK's Royal United Services Institute, said.

Thoughts on Heritage foundation Project 2025? All the wrong people I hate (annoying, terminally online lib commentators) are hysterical, they said Trump gonna shut down NOAA, EPA, become dictator and ends democracy. Is it UN Agenda 21 (Hobbit homes, eat bugs) panic for Blue MAGA, or fascists telling us exactly what they are gonna do?

I like how these past weeks have been decades for Biden. From every democrat scolding you for not voting for him, to his debate, to every democrat deciding he must go in real time, to his follow up gaffes and interviews and sleepiness, to discussing his replacement openly, to the shooting, to getting covid. Back to back

Saboteurs Explode Gas Pipeline in Venezuela

Article

President Maduro warned that the far-right opposition wants to provoke a tragedy to change voting intentions.

On Wednesday night, Venezuelan Interior Minister Remigio Ceballos confirmed the explosion of a gas pipeline in the state of Anzoategui.

“An explosion occurred in a gas pipeline on the old Cantaura-Anaco road. The initial investigation indicates that the incident was a result of sabotage,” he said, adding that the explosion did not cause any casualties.

Officials from the Bolivarian National Police (PNB), Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM), firefighters, and the oil company Petroleum of Venezuela (PDVSA) are at the site where the explosion occurred.

“A thorough investigation is underway to find the perpetrators,” said Ceballos, who shared a video and photographs showing the fire after the explosion.

The Venezuelan opposition began sabotage by exploding a gas pipeline in the state of Anzoategui!!!”

On Monday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro warned that the far-right opposition wants to provoke a tragedy to change voting intentions before the presidential elections in which he and nine other candidates are competing.

“They are looking for a catastrophe that changes the course of what will happen in Venezuela on July 28. We have to stay alert,” he said during a campaign event in the state of Bolivar, which borders Brazil.

During Brazil's January, 2023 coup attempt, allies of election loser Jair Bolsonaro knocked over 24 high tension towers in 5 states. Is it any surprise that a Colombian militia says the Venezuelan opposition tried to hire it to sabotage the electrical grid on election day.

US monitored Brazilian President Lula da Silva for decades and produced almost a thousand reports, says Fernando Morais

The journalist, who is the president's biographer, requested access on his behalf to documents drawn up by the US government.

Article

Different US government agencies have monitored President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) for decades. Over the years, around 819 documents were produced about the PT president. The information was provided by the US government to journalist Fernando Morais, the president's biographer. The documents refer to the period from 1966 to 2019.

Most of the records were allegedly produced by the CIA, the US government's intelligence agency, the author told Folha de S. Paulo. The reports point out, among other things, Lula's relationship with former president Dilma Rousseff (Workers' Party, Lula's Party), authorities in the Middle East and China, as well as Brazilian military plans and the production of Petrobras.

Morais has not yet had access to all the documents. The request did not include, for example, the most recent years, after Lula's release. “The president was still in prison when I obtained powers of attorney to collect all the existing records from the agencies on his behalf,” the journalist explained to Folha de S. Paulo. “There are agencies that obviously had nothing, like the one that deals with the illegal entry of food. But I asked for all of them.”

Although the requests cover the period from 1966, still during Brazil's military dictatorship, there is no information on when the first record related to Lula was made in US agencies. A total of 613 documents were found at the CIA, 111 at the State Department, 49 at the Defense Intelligence Agency, 27 at the Department of Defense, 8 at US Army South and 1 at the Army Cyber Command. The journalist is still waiting to hear back from the FBI, the US federal police, the National Security Agency and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.

While people are making a big deal about someone not getting shot to death at one end of the Rust Belt, around the other end of it there had been another person who was actually shot to death. By police. In her own home. Apparently after placing a 911 call about an intruder.

The only sliver of hope I'm holding on to for actual COVID vs melty-brained president delay, is that the 90 min could be a delay from a rapid antigen + tabletop PCR. Because since COVID is over they really wouldn't want to announce presinaldal COVID unless they were quite sure.

At the same time though, there's been enough "COVID is over" "it's just a cold" propaganda that the average American probably really won't give a shit if it was COVID or if they just are faking to keep the sundowning from showing more.
