That's surprising. Blue moon is such a disappointing beer that I didn't even realise they were from Colorado. We have microbreweries in every strip mall and so many state-level ones that make way better beer.

Especially since Coors comes from Golden CO

The modern Guinness drinker is a metropolitan living gentleman or lady who prefers hard liquor or mixed drinks but if they have to get a beer based on social dynamics sighs and orders a Guinness while lamenting it not tasting the same as their fall vacation to Cork. They’ll get 8 Guinness pints for $75 usd plus tips and drive up the count.

The country bumpkins and migrant workers split their vote for the various light beer and can’t afford to drink parties causing the win to go to the Irish favorite. At 4% abv and a mild but distinguished flavor it’s no surprise it can come out on top in a state dominated by its large metro population.

Miller is basically served up with a frequency that we may as well serve it out of bubblers. Personally I like our local porters, should I have a rare drink or two.

What SIMW said. They're pretty much the equivalent of beer flavored sodas. Great on hot days or right after finishing work, getting home, stripping down, and slugging out. Personally I'm biased towards Corona, but blue moon comes in a close second for me for that fragrance of citrus.

Quite honestly it's better and cheaper to just drink water or some kind of tea, but once in a while it's a nice treat I can enjoy more easily than a bottle of soda.

Different styles are radically different. Pilsners range from that "cheerios dissolved in some seltzer" taste to pre-skunked beers like budweiser and heineken that start out tasting like they were opened and left out in the sun for a week. Hoppier beers tend to taste better and cleaner, some saisons are good (and some are awful, like Blue Moon), ales in general tend to be ok-ish and at their worst are just mediocre. Wheat beers tend to be that bread taste but cleaner and crisper than the slimy tasting filth that American lagers tend towards.

Lagers in general are usually pretty bad or mediocre in my experience, with the exception of something like a doppelbock which has been consistently good.

Miller, Coors, and Blue Moon are all Molson-Coors. Guinness is Diageo, and Heineken is Heineken.
