Typing long ass comments and then deleting them cause it wasn't going to make a difference.

[-] Drummyralf@lemmy.world 10 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago)

Well, typing and deleting lets me think thoroughly about where I stand in matters and what arguments I use. So in a way, it sometimes makes a difference for myself even if not posted.

fwiw i like reading long ass comments. usually there is something useful or insightful in there.

way more than i like reading 'ok boomer' comments.

but totally get that it doesn't make a difference and the vast majority of the replies will be of the 'ok boomer' or 'u suck' variety.

[-] anon6789@lemmy.world 3 points 4 weeks ago

Your comments look good. I think you should do more.

Hardly any comments here are important, but getting the conversation going, and then continuing requires the contributions of as many of us as possible.

I mainly post photos, and I love when someone even takes the time to say wow this was really cool or this pic made my day a little better.

Everything you do here feeds the process of making this a better and more active place.

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 21 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

That sounds frankly unhealthy

[-] SerotoninSwells@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Well, I guess I'm here for a good time, not a long time.

Trying to find good subs

All, 6 hours (or 12 hours if I sleep).

I like being forced into All by the smallness. I didn't realize I like Star Trek and D&D memes as much as I do. And if you go far enough, there's porn there, too!

[-] TubularTittyFrog@lemmy.world 3 points 4 weeks ago

really uninteresting porn, sadly.

Replying to threads in !tenforward@lemmy.world and !chevron7@lemmy.world so my hundreds and hundreds of hours of 90s sci-fi watching doesn't feel like a waste.

[-] kionite231@lemmy.ca 3 points 4 weeks ago

TBH there isn't much here to doomscroll.

[-] adaveinthelife@lemmy.ca 6 points 4 weeks ago

doom scrolling past all the German and Linux posts

[-] Asudox@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

Mostly writing comments and reading tech news and privacy stuff. I barely write any posts.

[-] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 month ago

Mostly scrolling and bullshitting. Sometimes following posted links and such and engaging on the topic.

[-] lesteross@lemmy.world 7 points 4 weeks ago

Looking at all feed cause none of communities from reddit migrated to lemmy.

[-] Edgarallenpwn@midwest.social 7 points 4 weeks ago

Scroll until I get a panic attack, then smoke weed saying it will calm me down then have a worse panic attack for 45 minutes

[-] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 month ago

Finding sources… 💩posting… :)

I’m here for the Star Trek memes. And other memes. And bits of world news here and there

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 5 points 4 weeks ago

Spamming y'all with poems and sovereign citizens.

[-] Monument@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 4 weeks ago

Scrolling All until my client crashes, mostly.

In terms of ‘doing’ anything, I mostly just post comments that are about a 50/50 mix of tin-foil hat anticapitalist doomer/failed democracy viewpoints and absolutely batshit statements (mostly humorous in nature, but I have a somewhat careless relationship with my past traumas).

It’s so weird, because if I added about 30% more (mostly appropriate) sexual comments, I’d be exactly the same person here as I am IRL.

[-] jqubed@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Scroll through, read interesting links, engage in comments.

[-] HobbitFoot@thelemmy.club 4 points 4 weeks ago

60% up voting comments. 15% writing comments that get ignored. 10% writing comments that people on Lemmy respond to well. 5% writing comments that people on Lemmy respond to poorly.

Making estimates and calculations in the comments, then replying to people who disagree with me.

[-] sramder@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Resorting the same 50 posts different ways ;-)

[-] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 4 points 4 weeks ago

When I got time to kill, I'm browsing through subbed communities and finding new interesting one. I also spend a lot of time within my moderated communities and and getting their daily posts up.

Other than that, my time is actually spent off-Lemmy – I try to find fun/silly/interesting stuff elsewhere to share on Lemmy to drum up discussions here.

[-] savvywolf@pawb.social 4 points 4 weeks ago

Procrastinating work.

[-] MisterNeon@lemmy.world 4 points 4 weeks ago

Scrolling through "New" since I'm an information junkie.

[-] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 4 points 4 weeks ago

Participating. Reading news and community discussions.

[-] Macallan@lemmy.world 4 points 4 weeks ago

Doomscroll....

[-] shinigamiookamiryuu@lemm.ee 3 points 4 weeks ago

You're looking at it.

[-] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 3 points 4 weeks ago

Shitposting, asking dumb questions, and calling out logical fallacies when I see them.

And just generally being a nuisance.
