I think that's just how normal human being aged without plastic surgery or cosmetic enhancements.

Johnny Depp: “The youngest, you say?”

[–] frickineh@lemmy.world 50 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Well, one of them is an abusive drunk, one is a cult member who has multiple ex-wives who've basically fled the marriage, and one is Tim Walz. Think I'd pick Walz.

[–] ByteOnBikes@slrpnk.net 31 points 6 hours ago (4 children)

My main takeaway is cults and alcohol abuse makes you look young.

But having a loving fulfilling life makes you oh so fuckable. 🤤

[–] shield_gengar@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 hours ago

The average cultist in d&d has more health and stats than regular commoners

[–] frickineh@lemmy.world 16 points 6 hours ago

Nah, money makes you look young, but it also seems to turn a lot of people into real assholes. Tbh, though, I think people are mistaking handsome for youthful - I don't really think either of them look any younger in the fact than Walz, it's just the hair.

Having enough money for regular treatments, enhancements and top quality plastic surgeons.

[–] nickhammes@lemmy.world 229 points 10 hours ago (5 children)

Only one of these men taught high school. Coincidence, I think not

[–] Kecessa@sh.itjust.works 5 points 5 hours ago

Only one of these men spent over 20 years in the army. Coincidence? I think not...

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 116 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

also, only one of those men hasn't had plastic surgery and doesn't pay a small fortune to maintain their fake-ass-hair, or their fake-ass-smile.

[–] Pronell@lemmy.world 49 points 10 hours ago (3 children)

Reminder - look at Tom Cruise's teeth. He has a single middle front tooth.

Not shaming him for having had bad teeth of course, just pointing it out. Many other superior reasons to shame him.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 22 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

having bad teeth is one thing. Don't get me wrong.

But they dump a small fortune in purely cosmetic stuff, too. They all do. or like their hair. They're probably spending a a few hundred a week to keep that hair looking the way it does. Not to mention the plugs, the rogaine or whatever other thing they're doing to keep from going bald.

(also, for the record, they Cruise looks like a slimeball about to sell a used car to a sucker. brad pit looks a few synapses short of an original thought.)

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 14 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Your point made me realize finding... It's kind of weird that Cruise hasn't got his tooth situation fixed considering all the money he's pumped into plastic surgery, hair treatment, thetan persecution, etc.

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 5 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I was pretty sure he had until this thread.

[–] Pronell@lemmy.world 15 points 9 hours ago

It was one of the first things he had fixed. Here's a pic from The Outsiders:

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 3 points 9 hours ago

You never know, he might have had a mold made, and wears that. Image is everything to guys like that.

[–] ArgentRaven@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

I'm pretty sure he got that fixed. I don't notice it on his newer stuff like the new top gun, at least

[–] forrgott@lemm.ee 6 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Oh god, now I can't unsee...which is awesome! I'm not gonna be able to do anything but laugh at each and every photo I see of him from now on. So, yeah, thanks! :-D

[–] nightwatch_admin@feddit.nl 1 points 4 hours ago

He’s crying all the way to his bank account

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 2 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

Xenu wasn't enough?

Edit: a few sections have flashing lights. Can timestamp if anyone wants.

[–] Vandals_handle@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago

Phrased another way, Waltz worked, while Pitt and Cruise had work done.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 6 hours ago

That’s the best response I’ve seen in a week.

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 2 points 8 hours ago

That actually made me laugh out loud. Bravo!

[–] ech@lemm.ee 2 points 8 hours ago

Upvote for that smooth Incredibles reference.

[–] Dhar@lemmy.ca 3 points 4 hours ago

That clean Midwestern living really ages ya.

[–] yesman@lemmy.world 42 points 10 hours ago

Superstar actors are more attractive than the general population? Next your going to tell me that a professional athletes of his age are in better shape.

[–] MsPenguinette@lemmy.world 49 points 11 hours ago

What money will do to a mf

[–] WrenFeathers@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

This blows my mind!

[–] bruhbeans@lemmy.ml 26 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

To be fair, these days Tom Cruise looks like someone wearing a Tom Cruise mask

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 12 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

He kind of always looked that way.

Helps having money and personal assistants. :)

Walz is only 5 years older than me, but he did hit the 60 threshhold:

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 16 points 10 hours ago

That's because Waltz has worked real jobs his whole life.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 9 points 9 hours ago

Honestly, I'd rather look like Tim Walz. Looking like either of those other two sounds kind of exhausting.

60, 60, 62

If you're lucky enough to have all your original hair and teeth at 60, and don't let yourself go to shit, this is easily doable. Here's me (53) at a costume party last weekend.

Lemmy: "No one can do this without money!!!"

Uh, no. A little luck and a lot of self-care is more like it.

[–] troglodytis@lemmy.world 7 points 5 hours ago

You're doing great. Keep up the good work, but 53 is not 60, or 62. There is definitely a magnitude difference there.

I do my fair share of swiping right and left. I am and enjoy the older crowd, so my filters reflect that. The difference is usually easily observable

[–] flicker@lemmy.world 6 points 6 hours ago

You're cuter than Tom Cruise.

[–] RBWells@lemmy.world 18 points 8 hours ago

You look how I expect 53 to look, well maintained not young. People are aging more slowly for sure. I look at pictures of my mom at my age and we don't look the same age.

But if you don't have money (for gym or weights, Retin-A, good sunscreen, a job that doesn't stress the fuck out of you) it really is more difficult. Stress is so aging, rich or not, but less stress is easier with money.

[–] Landless2029@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

I'm 40 and clearly balding since mid 30s. It sucks and I thought I wasn't vain enough to care.
