TL;DR no records found. Either HB really is a bunch of libs or I didn't word the request well enough. Never done one of these before.

People, I really don't think the foia people talk to the NSA database people like "hey we got this sweet tip on a tiny online leftist forum!" The truth is just that as big as we seem to ourselves we just aren't big enough and aren't active enough in meat space to warrant the attention.

Yet? Perhaps.

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 53 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

we just aren't big enough

There are forums made 25 years ago about topics no one cares about with more active users than Hexbear. I'm pretty sure an AR-15 thread on a gun nut website has more posters.

I guarantee one of us will do an adventurism one day, and their account will probably make mainstream news.

[–] CloutAtlas@hexbear.net 40 points 2 weeks ago

It already happened, it was UlyssesT and he killed Kissinger. But he made it look like natural causes so no news for us.

[–] Aradina@lemmy.ml 22 points 2 weeks ago

I hope I'm in the b-roll

[–] Bobson_Dugnutt@hexbear.net 19 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It wouldn't surprise me too much with all the Sephiroth-posting that's been going on here lately. Some people need to touch-grass

If I did, they would have to spend a half hour segment explaining who Slavoj Zizek is and the pervert's guide to ideology.

[–] JustSo@hexbear.net 17 points 2 weeks ago

[–] FourteenEyes@hexbear.net 32 points 2 weeks ago

[–] Blottergrass@hexbear.net 30 points 2 weeks ago

You could have just DM'd me bro

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 29 points 2 weeks ago

You would have done something wrong. There is a file for fucking everything. That being said, also don't cause now it'd more likely to be paid attention to

[–] ClathrateG@hexbear.net 26 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Like GrosMichel said maybe try chapo.chat, but imo doing it for 'chapo trap house' searching through for anything related to fanbase(I know I know) and go from there, see if there is mention of 'forums'

This is the sloppiest bust I've ever seen! Detective Howard Dean. I've been working this case for the last three years, and you guys barge in here like a bunch of terrorists at a tea party!

[–] glans@hexbear.net 23 points 2 weeks ago

The website https://www.muckrock.com/ with help you to make FOIAs, followup on them, and then share the results.

You can also see a lot of past FOIAs to learn about what works and doesn't work.
