I swear the 3 pictures the NYPD has released are all indiscernible white boys with totally different coats on. Either my man is a fashionista and changed his coat 3 times or it's just stop and frisk for white boys rn.

i mean if you're committing a murder, changing your clothes is the minimum of due diligence.

[–] underisk@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 month ago

sure but do you change into a nearly identical outfit?

I knew it was intercapitalist infighting!

There's only one thing I feel sad about this, that we will probably never know who did this or see him. Because he seems like a really cool guy.

it's not who it is underneath, but what they do that defines them. They're everyone and no one, they're you and me.

if you embody the spirit of humanity, you too can be the Adjuster

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 23 points 1 month ago (1 children)

On the plus side, there's nothing stopping him from Adjusting again

There will be a lot of work on the other end -- protecting individual CEOs. Some will want to emulate the whole secret service. That will be untenable, though; are we really going to shut down major highways not just for presidential visits but for anyone on the forbes 400? They'll decide it's more efficient if they come under actual secret service protection. A significant proportion of our future comrades will point to the day the feds just straight-up listed out who's in charge as their radicalizing experience.

I hope so. Nothing will absolutely annihilate public opinion like making people late for work or dinner.

The Monopoly Money was 100% planted by someone else considering they found if after 3 days. Unless the Adjuster is still hanging out in New York and left it just to troll them more.

[–] bbnh69420@hexbear.net 21 points 1 month ago

I can literally only imagine The Adjuster as The Riddler

The Super Mario 64 DS minigames were so fun. I wish I never lost my DS and all of my games and equipment.

[–] SeducingCamel@hexbear.net 2 points 1 month ago

Interesting, I fit this description every day

With the FBI raising the bounty, this is the closest we've seen to a Straw Hat Luffy irl so far.

[–] sisatici@hexbear.net 53 points 1 month ago

American cops are incompetent compared to even other cops. They have less than 60% murder solve rate (crime with highest solve rate) and it decreases every year. This ratio is above 90% for Germany. Image how much of that 60% is even true

it's like NYC is possibly the most surveilled city in the world. at this point i think it's reasonable to conclude that either none of that shit works or someone doesn't want him to be caught.

[–] CthulhusIntern@hexbear.net 29 points 1 month ago

It's me I'm someone.

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 18 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If you know some basics of evasion tactics, do some pre-op recon of the land, do some prep work and planning for your equipment, I think it's fairly feasible to not get caught and make an escape out of the city. Like as long as you make sure your facial features aren't identifiable enough and you're careful with forensic shit like fingerprints, you stand a pretty reasonable chance of exfiltrating the metropolitan area and really disappear into the background.

Throw in some good old fashioned spycraft tactics and some alibi making and you could have a very decent chance of winning your hide and seek game.

It only works when you have a concentration camp like gaza or if your just a sloppy criminal/drunk

[–] OrganisationLeader@hexbear.net 31 points 1 month ago

This is a great bonus. They would otherwise be busy beating/framing/murdering minorities.
